William F. Chin (1834-1934)

William Chin, Butler & Head of Household Staff at The Grange, Toronto

He was born in England at St. Pancras, London, and came to Toronto in 1856. Two years later, he was employed by the Boultons as a coachman at The Grange. He rose to become butler and remained in service at the Grange until 1910 when it became an Art Gallery. He lived at the Gatehouse with his wife and eleven children.
