William Bell, of Yonkers & "The Hill" Columbia Co., New York
He lived at Yonkers, New York, and in 1865 paid $80,000 for the beautiful estate in the Hudson Valley known as The Hill. The bank foreclosed on the property in 1882 when it was bought at auction by his elder brother, James. He married Ann Thomas of Baltimore and they had five daughters, all of whom died in childhood.
