Walter Jennings (1858-1933)

of New York City & "Burrwood" L.I.., President of the Jekyll Island Club

He was a Director of Standard Oil and lived principally between 9 East 70th Street in New York City and "Burrwood" (see images) at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island, designed by Carrère & Hastings in 1899. Burrwood passed to his son and was afterwards sold to the Industrial Home for the Blind that was ultimately sold for development and demolished in 1994.
