Thomas Temple (d.1727)
Landowner along the Kennebec River, Maine
He was a son of Sir Purbeck Temple, Kt., of Edgecombe Place, Surrey, Governor of Henley. He was taken to Nova Scotia by his uncle Sir Thomas Temple, 1st Bt., Governor of Nova Scotia. Purbeck and Thomas were two of the grandsons of Sir Thomas Temple, 1st Bt. of Stowe. In 1720, Thomas purchased lands on the Kennebec River in Maine and brought out several hundred families from Ireland to settle there.
