Thomas Ross Newbold (1809-1858)
Thomas R. Newbold, Stockbroker, of Philadelphia
He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania (1826). He was admitted to the Philadelphia Bar (1829) but chose a career in finance. As well as being a stockbroker, he also became editor of "The North American". In 1835, he married Julia, daughter of General James Fleming of Hutchinson, New York.
