Gen. Thomas Mifflin (1744-1800)

7th President & 1st Governor of Pennsylvania

He lived between his townhouse on Market Street, Philadelphia, and his country home "Angelica Farm" near Reading on the Schuylkill River. Several - notably contemporary - sources state quite clearly that he and his wife, Sarah Morris, died without children. However, several more modern sources state that Emily was his/their only child, and one source on Wikipedia mentions "four beautiful daughters" while geni.com (without quoting any sources) reels off five children. There is no modern biography of Mifflin that might otherwise be able to shine a light on this riddle.
