Thomas Drax (1660-1702)
Thomas (Shetterden) Drax, Sugar Planter, of Drax Hall, Barbados etc.
He changed his surname from "Shetterden" to "Drax" on inheriting his uncle's (Henry Drax's) estates at Drax Hall in Barbados and Ellerton Abbey in Yorkshire, adding those to his father's estate at Pope's Common in Hertfordshire. He lived for sometime at Drax Hall in Barbados where he died in 1702.
