Theodore Atkinson (1697-1779)

Col. Theodore Atkinson; Sheriff, Secretary & Chief Justice of New Hampshire

He was Secretary of the Province of New Hampshire in 1741 (a title which he passed to his only son, Theodore Jr., in 1760, but returned to him after his son's death) as well as Colonel in the New Hampshire Militia, Member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and Chief Justice of the Superior Court of New Hampshire. He married Hannah, daughter of John Wentworth, Lieutenant-Governor of New Hampshire.
