Silas Condict Clark (1798-1871)

Silas C. Clark, of Morristown, New Jersey

He was the son of Isaac Clark and Phebe Axtell, daughter of Major Henry Axtell. He was named for his mother's brother, Colonel Silas Axtell. His son, S.H.H. Clark became a Railroad President and, "emphatically styled himself a self-made man".
