Mrs Sarah (Rogers) Haight

She and her husband were avid travellers. It was said that, "on her frequent trips to Europe she was attended by a retinue like a princess." In 1840, she published (anonymously) Letters from the Old World recounting their travels through Europe, Africa and Asia between 1836 and 1838.  She wrote four books, the first of which - A Medley of Joy and Grief - was also published anonymously with the author styled simply as, a "Lady of New York". She had eight children, four (listed) lived to adulthood.
