Samuel Wentworth (1708-1766)

Merchant, of Boston, Massachusetts

He was the fifth son of the Lieutenant-Governor of New Hampshire and the younger brother of Benning Wentworth who filled the same post. His nephew and son-in-law, Sir John Wentworth 1st Bt., was the last Colonial Governor of New Hampshire and Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia. He graduated from Harvard in 1728 and in 1732 married Elizabeth Deering. They had seven (listed) surviving children.
