Samuel Smith (1693-1784)
Merchant, of Baltimore & formerly a Member of the Pennsylvania Assembly
He was a native of Ballymagorry, Co. Tyrone, and emigrated with his wife and children to Pennsylvania in 1728, following in the footsteps of his brother, James, who emigrated there in 1722. He was a merchant and was elected a member of the Pennsylvania Assembly (1737-38) before relocating to Baltimore in 1759.
