Samuel Parkman Shaw (1813-1869)
of Portland, Maine & Cambridge, Massachusetts
He was born in Boston and graduated from Harvard. He studied law and first moved to Parkman, Maine, before moving to Waterville and then Portland. His career saw him become president of a bank and a member of the Governor's Council. In 1863, he retired to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and he died (December 7) while on vacation in Paris. In 1841, he married Hannah Buck by whom he had eleven children, five of whom survived him.
