Samuel Huntington (1731-1796)

U.S. Founding Father, President of Congress & Governor of Connecticut

He was the 18th Governor of Connecticut and he was succeeded by Oliver Wolcott. He and his wife didn't have any children of their own but after Martha's sister (who was married to Samuel's brother) died they adopted her son and daughter raising Samuel H. and Frances Huntington as their own.
