Samuel C. Thompson (1835-1884)
1st President of Chase National Bank, New York
He was the first president of the Chase National Bank of the City of New York. In 1855, he was appointed Engineer-in-Chief to the military staff of the Governor of New York (who was also his brother's father-in-law), Myron Holley Clark. He was also a Director of the Pacific Mail Steamship Company, the Municipal Gas Company of New York, and the Panama Railroad.
