Samuel Ballard (1719-1793)

Silversmith, of Common St., Boston, Massachusetts

He was a silversmith and lived on Common Street (now Tremont Street), "between Mr. Cole's and Mr. Swan's houses, being the third house from Winter Street and corner of Turnagain Lane, now Temple Place". In 1741, he married Elizabeth Pickering and eight months after her death in 1763 he married the widowed Mrs. Fear (Freeman) Sears, bringing up her son, David Sears.
