Robert Watts (1743-1814)

Shipping Merchant & Co-Founder of the New York Chamber of Commerce

He was born in New York City and graduated from King's College in 1760. He was a Shipping Merchant and Member of the New York Chamber of Commerce. "His residence was at "Rose Hill" near Fordham, Westchester County, now the grounds of the Roman Catholic Seminary of St. Johns". In 1790, he was living at Great Dock Street in New York and he died at Philadelphia. He married Mary, daughter of the Revolutionary General William Alexander, Lord Stirling., and had five children (listed).
