Robert Stewart Menzies (1856-1889)
Robert Stewart Menzies, M.P., of London & Hallyburton House, Forfarshire
He was born in Edinburgh and was educated at Harrow and Christ Church, Oxford. He inherited Hallyburton after his father's death in 1880 and two years later (1882) was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn. In 1885, he was elected to Parliament as a Liberal for East Perthshire and held the seat until his premature death, age-33. In London, he lived at his parents' old home at 32 Queen's Gate before moving to his own home on Upper Brook Street off Grosvenor Square. He was unmarried.
