Robert Kelso Cassatt (1873-1944)
Banker, of Cassatt & Co., Philadelphia
He was born at Haverford, Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania, to the projector and President of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the niece of U.S. President James Buchanan. He was a nephew of the famous painter, Mary Cassatt. He graduated from Harvard (1895) and went into the coal business at Philadelphia as Eastern Manager of the Keystone Coke & Coal Company, miners and shippers of bituminous and gas, coal and coke. He also became a partner in the banking house of Cassatt & Co., and was a director of the Commercial Trust Company. He was a Member of the Pennsylvania Society of the Sons of the Revolution and various other clubs and organizations in Philadelphia and New York. In 1900, he married Minnie, daughter of John R. Fell and stepdaughter of Alexander Van Rensselaer. They were the parents of two sons, Alexander and Anthony.
