Robert Johnson (1682-1735)

"The Good" Governor of South Carolina

His father, like him, served as Governor of South Carolina. He inherited his father's estates and was entitled to style himself "Landgrave" but there is no evidence to suggest he did. By 1713, the noble titles granted by the Lord Proprietors of South Carolina were no longer deemed "fashionable".
