Robert Bayard (1797-1878)

Robert Bayard, of Glenwood near Fishkill, New York

He lived between New York City and "Glenwood" near Fishkill, New York. On April 27, 1820, at Hunter's Island, he married Elizabeth, daughter of James McEvers. They had three children: their son was born in Paris and died in early adulthood unmarried. Their elder daughter, Ruth, became Mrs A. Speirs Brown and their younger daughter, Elise, became Mrs Fulton Cutting and a well-known poet.
