Rev. Joseph Huntington (1735-1794)
Pastor of the first Church in Coventry, Tolland Co., Connecticut
He was the brother of U.S. Founding Father Samuel Huntington. They were cousins of Joseph Huntington (grandfather of the railroad tycoon Collis P. Huntington), their grandfathers - sons of Deacon Simon Huntington (1629-1706), Member of the General Assembly of Connecticut - being brothers. They were all descendants of Christopher Huntington who in 1660 was the first male child born in the new settlement of Norwich, Connecticut.
