Ralph Izard (1752-1812)

of "Fair Spring" South Carolina; Member of the Provincial Congress

He served several terms in the South Carolina General Assembly. He owned a townhouse in Charleston and four rice plantations on the Pee Dee River: Weymouth, Hickory Hill, Milton, and White House. He inherited the Fair Spring Plantation (formerly called "Burton") and later lived on the Schieveling Plantation. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Benjamin Stead, the Factor in London of Peter Manigault, and they were the parents of seven children (listed), six daughters and one son.
