Prince Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent & Strathearn

He was Commander-in-Chief of the British Army in North America. His two elder brothers (Kings George IV and William IV) both died without legitimate children and therefore in 1837 it was his daughter, Victoria, who became Queen.
