Philip Derbishire (1769-1853)

M.D. of Bath, London & Boulogne

He graduated from Edinburgh and was for many years a medical practitioner in Bath and then London. He became a Fellow of the Linnean Society in 1806 and in 1828 registered a patent for a medicine that claimed to cure sea-sickness. He was always styled "Esq" rather than "Dr". His addresses in London included Ely Place in Holborn and later 16 Berner's Street, W1. He retired to Boulogne in France where he died.
