Oscar Frederick Livingston (1824-1901)

of 108 East 30th Street, New York City

He was born in New York City and had mining interests on the Pacific coast with transportation lines both east and west. In 1857, he received a considerable sum of money by bequest from his childless uncle John Cox Stevens who was in control of the yacht America when it won the trophy that would become the America's Cup in 1851. In 1868, he bought  Copley's portrait of Captain Gabriel Maturin who was the first husband of a distant relative. He was married twice, but died without issue.
