Notley Young (1738-1802)
of Gisborough Manor; "One of the Original Landowners of the District of Columbia"
He and his mother's first husband, Daniel Carroll, were the last manorial owners of the vast tract of land (inherited from Notley's mother) that covered Capitol Hill, Southwest Washington, the Navy Yard, Southeast Washington, a large tract north of Capitol Hill, and the site of what is today the Congressional Library.
