Norman James Dawes (1874-1967)
Norman J. Dawes, of Montreal; President of National Breweries Ltd., etc.
He was born at Lachine, Quebec. He was educated at the Montreal High School; McGill University; and, the United States Brewers' Academy, New York. He was President of National Breweries Ltd., President of the Montreal Board of Trade, and Chairman of the Financial Federation. In 1899, he married Olive, daughter of Charles Claggett, and they were the parents of three sons and four daughters. They lived at 709 (later renumbered 1517) Pine Avenue West, Montreal, next door to J.W. McConnell.
