Nora (Loftus) Gardiner (1871-1955)

Mrs "Nora" Honora (Murphy/Loftus) Gardiner

She and her four siblings were born "Murphy" but took the surname "Loftus". Nora was the sister of Captain Francis Cochrane Loftus (1873-1899) who was killed in the Boer War. They were two of the children of John Murphy (1822-1881), of Mount Loftus, Co. Kilkenny (grand-nephew and heir of Sir Nicholas Loftus 3rd Bt.), and Mrs (Belinda Creagh) Maurice Lindsay Coates, of Rockheath Park, Norwich.
