Michael Burton (1673-1719)

J.P., D.L., of Holmesfield Hall, Derbyshire

He became a Barrister-at-law at the Inner Temple, London, in 1702, the same year that he was made a Justice of the Peace in Derbyshire. In 1711, he was appointed Deputy-Lieutenant for Derbyshire. He died in London at St. Martin's-in-the-Fields. He married Mary, one of the three daughters and co-heiresses of Henry Wigley, of Wigwall Grange in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, and had 3-sons and a daughter.
