Mary (Newland) de Limburg-Stirum (1883-1960)

Mary Joy (Newland), Countess de Limburg-Stirum

She met her husband, Count Menno von Limburg-Stirum (great-grandson of the diarist Elizabeth Richards) while staying with mutual friends at St. Moritz in Switzerland. They were married in 1908 at 650 Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, the home of her brother-in-law, Howard Meredith. As a result of World War I, they adapted their surname to 'de Limburg-Stirum'. They had three daughters.
