John Torrance Vanneck (1848-1912)
J.T. Vanneck, of Montreal & "Villa Saint-Georges" at Cannes, Côte d'Azur
He was born at Montreal and graduated from the University of Montreal but never engaged in business. He was well-known in New York society, a devotee of art, and spent much of his time in foreign travel. He was a cousin of Mrs Meredith Howland and Mrs John Hadden. He was married twice and had one son, Jack.
