John Richardson Forsyth (1813-1891)
John Richardson Forsyth, of Kingston, Upper Canada
He was born in Kingston and was called to the Bar of Montreal in 1843. He held five directorships in Kingston as well as being a director of the Athenaeum Fire Insurance Company of London and the British Bank of North America. He was Vice-President of the Kingston Building Society and was an unsuccessful candidate for the Legislative Assembly in 1841. In 1836, he married his first cousin, Catherine, the third daughter of David Forsyth, of Aberdeen, formerly of Saint-Petersburg.
