John Randolph Hamilton Prioleau (1882-1954)
Author & Motoring Correspondent for the Daily Mail
He was born in London and was educated at Harrow and Oxford. He became the motoring correspondent for the Daily Mail before serving with British Naval Intelligence during World War II. He authored several motoring books including the Motorist's Companion, The Open Road Abroad, The Adventures of Imshi, Car & Country, Motoring for Women, etc. He was a close friend of the newspaper magnate Lord Northcliffe.
