John Moore (d.1736)
of Charleston, South Carolina; Planter granted lands in Berkeley Co.
His origins are unclear, and its unclear whether or not he was related to Col. John Moore, Proprietor's Deputy, Secretary of the Province of South Carolina, and son of the Governor. This John Moore is the first known of his line and may have had his origins in Ireland. Between 1706 and 1718, he was granted just under 3,000-acres in Berkeley Co. He was married twice and lived in Charleston, where he died.
