John Meredith (1784-1866)

Attorney, of Dublin & Avoca, Co. Wicklow

His nephew, Edmund Meredith, described meeting him again in Dublin in 1853: "a jolly looking grey haired, hook nosed, old gentleman came downstairs and announced himself as Uncle John Meredith. His good humoured face beaming with kindness seemed exactly what it was when I saw him before some 25-years ago". In 1807, at Dublin, he married Magdalene, daughter of John Redmond J.P., of Newtown House, Co. Wexford & Charlemont Street, Dublin. They were survived by two sons.
