John Francis Amherst Cecil (1890-1954)

Hon. John Francis Amherst Cecil

He was born in England and educated at Eton College and Oxford University. In 1923, he was posted to America as the first secretary at the British Embassy in Washington D.C. He was married to the sole heiress of Biltmore the following year and subsequently resigned from his post in Washington. They had two sons.
