John Poulett-Thomson (1757-1839)

John Buncombe-Poulett-Thomson, of Waverley Abbey, Surrey

He was the senior partner of Thomson, Bonar & Co., the principal merchant house in the Russian-Baltic trade, trading between Saint Petersburg and London. His son, Lord Sydenham, was Governor-General of Canada.
