John Brooks Henderson (1826-1913)

John B. Henderson, U.S. Senator from Missouri

He is best remembered as the Senator who introduced the 13th Amendment to the Constitution that abolished slavery and as one of seven Republicans who voted against the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson in 1868. He was married to the redoubtable Mrs John B. Henderson, "Empress of Sixteenth Street". They had 1-son.
