John Borland (1659-1727)
Merchant, of Boston, Massachusetts
His parents, John and Beatrix (Baillie of Parke) Borland, were married at Hamilton in Lanarkshire in 1657. He is presumed to have arrived in New England in the same year (1682) as his brother, Francis, who was a Presbyterian Minister in Suriname from 1685 to 1690 before returning to Scotland via Barbados and New England.
