Jesse Lambert, settled at Milford, Connecticut

He was born at Wilton, Wiltshire, in England. According to family tradition, he was an officer in the British Royal Navy who fought a desperate engagement with a Turkish corvette on the Mediterranean Sea. He and his crew captured the Turkish ship and returned with it to England where their arrival was met with great acclamation. In 1680, he emigrated to America, arriving in Boston. From there he went to New Haven and then Milford where he settled. His residence was on the west side of the Wepowage River. In 1688, he married Deborah, daughter of Captain William Fowler whose father was one of the first settlers at Milford. They were the parents of 8-children.
