Jasper Milner-Gibson (1852-1898)

Jasper Joseph Alexander Milner-Gibson, of Theberton House, Suffolk

He was born at 50 Wilton Crescent in Belgravia, London. He served as a Captain in the Suffolk Militia. His mother spent much time in Paris and he too adopted the French capital as a second home. It was there at the Court of Napoleon III that he met his American wife, Elizabeth Parsons, sister of Princess zu Lynar. They were married in London in 1874, and though neither family approved of the match, they themselves remained happily married. When Jasper's father died in 1884, he inherited the family home in Belgravia and the Milner-Gibson's seat, Theburton House in Suffolk.
