Janet Newbold (1908-1982)

Mrs Janet (Newbold) Ryan, Stewart, Bush

She was born in Washington D.C. and was educated in Paris. She was a niece of Frank B. Noyes, President of the Washington Star who was succeeded by her father. On being presented to society Janet was described as, "the loveliest debutante" of the season. In 1929, she married Allan A. Ryan Jr., grandson of Thomas Fortune Ryan. They divorced in 1936 and in the same year she married William R. Stewart, "the best-dressed man in New York City" and they had one daughter Nancy.
