James Taylor II (1675-1729)

Col. J. Taylor, of Bloomsbury, Virginia; Knight of the Golden Horseshoe

He was one of the largest landowners in Virginia with 13,000-acres. He was also the ancestor of three U.S. Presidents: He was the great-grandfather of both James Madison and Zachary Taylor; and, greatx2-grandfather of James K. Polk.
