James Guthrie Scott (1803-1840)
J. Guthrie Scott, Barrister, of Montreal
He is not to be confused with his contemporary James Scott (d.1852), another barrister at Montreal but a Patriote, something of a duellist, and brother of William Henry Scott, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Deux-Montagnes. J. Guthrie Scott was the brother of Alexander Stewart Scott & Hugh Erskine Scott.
