James Campbell (1796-1848)
Lawyer, of 6 Hubert Street, New York City
He was born in Callender, Scotland, and came to America with his father, Malcolm Campbell, who opened a classical school in New York. He married the only daughter of Captain John Hazard, of Jamaica, Long Island, whose second wife was Lydia Blackwell of Blackwell's Island.
