Jacob Schieffelin III (1757-1835)

Merchant, of 107 East Broadway, New York City

He was a wealthy merchant. In 1823, he and his wife established Saint Mary’s Church at Manhattanville, the first free Episcopal church in America. The view from his home inspired his friend Alexander Hamilton to build Hamilton Grange
