Leather Merchant, of Corse, Thorne & Co., New York City & Sayville, Suffolk Co., L.I.

He bought his summer home (see images) in 1881 in what then then known as Greenville, west of Sayville, and immediately had it refurbished. It stood on a 55-acres and was a favorite place of his granddaughter, Edith Corse Evans, who went down with the Titanic.
