Holmes Hinkley (1793-1866)
Founder of the Hinkley Locomotive Co., Boston
He built steam engines in Boston in the 1830s with Gardner P. Drury. They began to manufacture locomotives from 1840 and their firm the "Boston Locomotive Works" became New England's largest manufacturer.
