Herbert Evelyn Harcourt Vernon (1863-1943)

He was born at Grove Hall, Retford, and was educated at Uppingham School (1880) and Keble College, Oxford. He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters, and settled in Toronto where he married (1885) Mary, daughter of George Allan, of Moss Park, Toronto. They had three children.
